That's no problem — it's really important to have control over your data.

Privacy Policy Overview

  • We aim to only collect the bare minimum of personal data about our users and customers
  • Any data that we do collect will only used in the process of running our website for its intended purpose
  • We'll sometimes need to share some data with third parties in order to deliver our products and services but in these instances we'll only share the minimum amount of data necessary
  • We'll always store data securely and will obfuscate identifiable data whenever possible

Data We Collect

Browser and Device Data

When you visit our website your web browser automatically shares some data with us, such as your IP address, device type, and other pieces of technical data. We'll use (and sometimes store) this some of the data for the following purposes:

  • To estimate your shipping destination country, your timezone, and your likely preferred currency
  • To log the actions you take on our website in order to protect our systems against misuse
  • To protect your account from fraudulant access
  • To (optionally) provide us with analytical data regarding who visits our website and how well our ads are working

We'll only store this data for as long as we need to use it for the above purposes.

Personal Data

When you sign up for a Pets On Stuff account we'll collect your email address and, optionally, your first name and last name.

If you request an email reminder to get started on your pet portrait design we'll save your email address in our database but we'll delete it 24 hours after the reminder email has been sent.

If you place an order we'll need to collect your name, address, and phone number, as well as the name, address, and phone number of the person we are shipping the order to (if different to your own).

When you pay for your orders our payment processor, Stripe, will also store your name, address, and phone number, and will also collect your payment information. Your payment information is held securely by Stripe and we can't access this.

Data In Images

When you upload your pet photos to our website to create your pet portraits you may be sending personal data to us in the form of embedded image metadata and/or visual data in the image itself.

When we process an uploaded photo we'll strip and delete any embedded metadata from the raw image file, such as GPS/location data.

We won't analyse the photo itself for any visual personal data so you'll need to ensure that you don't inadvertently include anything in the photo that you don't wish to share with us or the third-parties we work with.

How We Use The Data We Collect

All data that is sent between your web browser and our systems is encrypted during transmission.

All data is processed and stored securely and is encrypted and/or obfuscated wherever possible.

We'll only use your personal data to provide our core products and services to you, or to prevent abuse of our systems.

We will never spam you or sell your data.

We might share your data with third-parties in the following scenarios:

  • To set up your Pets On Stuff account and ensure that your website sessions are secure
  • To use browser data like your IP address to look up your probable shipping country, language, and currency
  • To enable the rendering of your pet images from the photos that you upload
  • To provide you with correct information on pricing and shipping times
  • To enable payments to be taken for orders
  • To facilitate the production and shipping of orders
  • To (optionally) enable our online advertising campaigns to work properly

All data sent between us and any third-party is transferred over secure connections.

Depending on your shipping address we may need to include your phone number and/or email address on the printed shipping label. This is to ensure that all carriers will accept the package, and that the recipient can be contacted if there are any import/customs issues.

We may send you "service emails" regarding your account in scenarios such as:

  • To assist you in confirming your email address upon signing up, or for logging in using secure links or one-time codes
  • To assist you in changing your password
  • To let you know when we've finished rendering your artistic pet images
  • To contact you about your payments and orders

If you choose to delete your pet images from our website there may be a delay between your request and us fully deleting your files and records. This could be due to how we handle and schedule deletions in our systems, as well as having to retain any files which may be currently in use or have already been added to a purchased pet portrait.

If you upload a pet photo before signing up for an account we'll create some temporary records for you in our system and store an identifier of these records on your device using a cookie. This cookie won't contain any of your personal data. If you sign up for an account we will link these temporary records to your new account and they will be saved, but if you don't sign up we will automatically delete all these records and any files that you've uploaded.

Data deleted from our live systems may still persist in our backup and log files for a finite about of time as per our standard backup and logging cycle, but will eventually be fully deleted.

If you have any questions about the deletion of your records or files please Contact Us 💬.

Cookies

To enable our website to work properly we'll ask your web browser to temporarily store small pieces of helpful data, commonly known as 'cookies'. This is an automatic process and is totally safe — cookies have been around in web browsers since the 1990s.

We'll use cookies for the following purposes:

  • To enable you to log in to your Pets On Stuff account and stay logged in between page views
  • To store temporary data that allows you to use our website before signing up for an account
  • To save your favoured currency and your shipping country
  • To (optionally) enable us to gather website analytics and track how our ad campaigns are working

We will never store any explicit, identifiable personal data in cookies unless encrypted.

If you entirely turn off cookies in your web browser you won't be able to use our website or services.
